This workshop is developed with health professionals (physicians, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, social workers, health coaches, dietitians, etc.) in mind, who often work with clients and patients whose backgrounds, identities, and life circumstances may differ from their own experiences.
This 5-week training will educate health professionals about several marginalized populations, including key characteristics and considerations for effectively working with diverse clients and patients. The webinar series will introduce learners to the concepts of implicit bias and social justice as well as focusing on specific populations including LGBTQIA+, seniors/older adults, people with varied racial/cultural/ethnic identities, and people living with disabilities. This program will provide information and discussion about what health professionals need to know in order to collaborate with their patients/clients for the best outcomes.
The registration fee covers access to the online course content as well as the cost of any available continuing education credits.
The entire training takes place online. There are no required textbooks or other materials.
Yes. In order to receive a certificate of completion you must attend all of the scheduled webinars. If you miss a webinar, you will be required to review the recording of the session.
You must also complete all of the online components of the training.
We reserve the right not to award a certificate of completion if you do not complete all components of the training.
You will access WebEx Meeting Center on your desktop or laptop computer in order to attend the webinar sessions. Your computer must have reliable internet access and a computer headset (or microphone and speaker) in order to join the online meeting sessions.

After completing the course, you will receive downloadable electronic certificates showing any available earned continuing education credits.
For programs with a designated start date, transfers are not allowed. Cancellations may be requested using the cancellation request form. If you make this request at least 7 days prior to the start of the program you will receive a refund of your payment minus an administration fee equal to 10% of the registration fee. If you request a cancellation fewer than 7 days before the program start date or do not arrive on your scheduled start date you will forfeit your payment.
