Patricia A. Prelock, PhD, CCC-SLP, BCS-CL, is the Dean, College of Nursing & Health Sciences at the University of Vermont. She continues to serve as the Chair of the Steering Committee for UVM Integrative Health and guides the educational program development. In her capacity as Dean she has been able to hire an Integrative Health Education Director who is leading their approved Undergraduate Certificate in Integrative Health and is now helping her to develop an Integrative Health Coaching Undergraduate and Professional Certificate following funding from a donor to support their initial efforts in integrative health coaching for young persons with autism spectrum disorders. She and her team have been intricately involved with the redesign of the complex pain clinic within the UVM Medical Center. Donors continue to support their efforts in oncology and pediatrics to bring nonpharmacological approaches to our patients’ health and wellness and they recently hired a fellowship-trained integrative health physician in their Nurse Practitioner primary care practice which serves as a clinical training and practice site for their NP students and faculty. She thanks the Leadership Program in Integrative Health at Duke University’s for providing a pathway for her to make such significant change in her community.
