In response to COVID-19, Duke Integrative Medicine is open for medical visits at this time. We are also offering acupuncture and 30-minute massage appointments. Julie has worked with Duke IM in a variety of capacities since 2004. She teaches mindfulness through MBSR, retreats, research classes, mindful eating, and specially designed programs on themes of simplifying, self-compassion, and worksite mindfulness. She has supported people with health behavior change since 1988, and has been coaching in an ICF-specific way since 2004. She has served as faculty for the IHCPT Program, managed coaching services for the Duke IM Clinic, and coached for NIH and industry-funded studies. She is working with the National Consortium for the Credentialing of Health and Wellness Coaches to create national standards for the field. Formerly the Executive Director of the Wellness Council of NC, Julie provided worksite wellness consultation to 200 organizations. Julie loves to be outdoors hiking, biking and kayaking. Her nature photography promotes healing in Duke’s patient rooms.
