Dr. Weiss’s primary area of focus encompasses the development and delivery of public and professional training programs. She is a lead instructor for the Integrative Health Coach Professional Training (IHCPT), along with various other customized health and wellness programs in the areas of resiliency, mindfulness, and health behavior change. As an Integrative Health Coach, Dr. Weiss partners with clients in both one-on-one and group coaching settings.
Prior to her role at Duke Integrative Medicine, Dr. Weiss spent 15 years conducting NIH-funded clinical and population-based research in the areas of obesity, cancer, cardiovascular disease and adolescent health. With a desire for translating knowledge about the causes of preventable chronic disease into action, she went on to earn fitness, nutrition and health coaching certifications.
Working at Duke IM represents the merging of her background in health research and passion for empowering individuals, organizations, and communities to make sustainable lifestyle changes towards the goal of achieving their optimal health and well-being.
