MBSR Continuation Program

We are pleased to offer a continuation program for people who have completed a basic eight-week program. We are aware that it can be difficult to find the time, motivation and support to continue mindfulness practice after the class is over, so we offer a monthly Saturday morning gathering and a quarterly Day of Mindfulness. The programs include:

  • Basic group practices
  • Mindful eating
  • Council process
  • Full day of silence

The format of each Saturday morning class consists of a period of basic group practice (e.g., sitting meditation, walking meditation, or body scan), a question-and-answer period about maintaining your own practice or any other topic you would like to discuss, and a theme session led by one of our instructors. The format for our Day of Mindfulness includes basic group practices, mindful eating, council process, and a full day of silence.

Enrollment

Continuation classes are open to graduates of the Duke MBSR program. Graduates of other programs are also welcome to attend, provided they check in with one of our instructors before attending. This ensures that everyone is "on the same page." Individuals with little or no meditation experience should first attend one of our eight-week sessions or seek another class.

For further information or directions, please call (919) 660-6745.

Fees

Duke MBSR Graduates: We welcome your donations to our scholarship fund. Similar programs often receive a $10 donation per session. This is a guideline and not a requirement.

Graduates of Other MBSR Programs: We welcome you to our Continuation Program; however, we ask that you contact one of our instructors before attending. The cost for our focused sessions is $15.
